Field Expediting provides Clients with a comprehensive review of the exact current status of their order and an educated projection of the future planning and status, at the same time as highlighting all possible action for each concerned party required to rectify or reduce any potential problem areas. Our expediters are experienced professionals who, by virtue of their technical backgrounds, are able to quickly verify progress against schedules, spot any potential bottlenecks and highlight any issues that may lead to eventual delays.
Our expediters remain in close contact with the Client and, wherever possible, provide a verbal exit call to the Client Focal Point prior to leaving the works, during which the Client is briefed on the findings of the visit and a discussion regarding continued activities is also held. Should the Client not be available, either due to other commitments or due to time difference, an Expediting Flash Report is filled out by hand and faxed from the vendor to Velosi for immediate onward submission by e-mail to the client. This ensures that the Client is constantly updated with the latest information available.
If problems are encountered during a visit, wherever possible the Client will immediately be contacted by telephone to apprise him of the situation and discuss what actions, if any, should be taken by our Expeditor prior to him leaving the vendor facility.
The expeditor will ensure that vendor submits all required documentation within the shorted possible timeframe; and highlight to the client which documents are overdue from the Client Engineer etc. Push for sub orders to be placed on a timely basis with fixed delivery dates; expediting sub orders; quickly ascertain the critical path(s) of a job and centre expediting attention around it/them; thorough discussions on the Production Schedule to minimise the timeframe of all processes. Reporting follow up actions for all parties.
Velosi place considerable importance on communications with all involved parties during the implementation of Expediting activities. All activities are managed by our experienced Office Co-ordinators and when expediting at sub supplier works, the main vendor is advised of all scheduled visits and copied in on all report submissions and communications.
Full time expediting / surveillance coverage provides clients with continuous in-depth progress information and immediate action and feedback by the expediter as soon as problems arise. This ensures that proposed schedules are maintained in line with the specific project needs. For full time expediting needs, whether for an individual order or for a specific project, a dedicated expediter will be provided to liase directly with the client ensuring the most efficient and direct lines of communication.
