Hotwork Enclosure events - 25 Sep 2009
K2 ( A Velosi Group Company) Hotwork Enclosure events in the Middle East a success.
A demonstration of the K2 Hotwork Enclosure system, which was held in Abu Dhabi and Doha, received positive response
and generated great interest in the product.
The first of two successful marketing events for the K2 Hotwork Enclosure system was held on 16 June 2009 at Le Meridien
Hotel, Abu Dhabi. It was attended by a number of individuals from the major local oil and gas companies, including Gasco,
Zadco, Adnoc-ConocoPhillips, Dragon Oil, Target Engineering and Adyard. 2 guests even flew in from Turkmenistan
especially for the event!
Attendees were very interested in the unique product, which allows for hotwork to be carried out safely in live process
areas without the need for expensive shutdowns. They commented on how much money it could save them through
shorter shutdown time and how urgent maintenance could be carried out at short notice, in a safe manner.
The K2 Hotwork Enclosure system is currently undergoing approval from ADNOC. After which, this cost-saving product will
be offered to our clients in Abu Dhabi.
The second event, which was held on 24 June 2009 at Hotel Intercontinental Doha, Qatar, saw an even greater level of
interest in product. Once again, guests were impressed with the potential cost savings and comprehensive safety features
of the system. 46 attendees from all the major players in the market attended the event, including Qatar Petroleum, Qatar
Gas, Qapco, Oryx-GTL, Qcon, Maersk Oil and many others. A guest even drove 5 hours from Saudi Arabia just to see a
demonstration of the product!
Guests expressed similar sentiments regarding the reduction of shutdown time and how the system offers another layer
of safety to the current ad-hoc solutions that are currently employed in the field. Many contractors said they would use the
system immediately, pending approval from the operators.
The next step is to obtain approval from the operators’ HSE departments in Qatar. After that, the K2 Hotwork Enclosure
system can be offered to all our clients to help them safely reduce their maintenance costs. |
