MURPHY Sarawak Oil Co - 19 Apr 2006
On 31 March 2006, MURPHY Sarawak Oil Co., (Ltd) has awarded to Velosi a 3 plus 2 years contract for the provision of Worldwide Source Inspection and Expediting Services for their oil and gas development projects.
Murphy is developing several new marginal oil fields in Blocks SK309 and SK311 situated in the South China Sea offshore Sarawak, East Malaysia.
The West Patricia Field in Block SK 309 is located approximately 22 Nautical miles offshore Bintulu off the coats of Sarawak, in a water depth of 40 metres. The West Patricia Field has now entered the full development phase. The initial reservoir appraisal phase saw the installation of the 15,300 BOPD (WP-PA) Wellhead Production Platform, the 40,000 BWPD (WP-IA) Water Injection Platform and the associated evacuation pipelines and the 718,000 BBLS Tanker Storage Facility (WP-FA). A second 15,300 BOPD Wellhead Production Platform WP-PB was installed 3rd quarter of 2004 along with additional pipelines to evacuate the crude to the WP-FA Storage Tanker. This platform is now fully operational.
Block SK311 situated in the South China Sea offshore Sarawak, located approximately 50 nautical miles from Bintulu in 40-50 m water depth. MURPHY intends to develop in the ENDAU and ROMPIN fields within this block. The intended structures will form part of an Early Evaluation Facility (EEF) and will consist of two (2) separate platforms situated app 8.5 km apart. The Early Evaluation Facilities (EEF) consisting of a small Jacket Structure and Topsides will be installed and a number of appraisal-cum-development wells will be drilled to provide maximum area coverage and gather valuable subsurface information. Production data will be collected and analysed for a period of time to better define the reservoir characteristics and reserve assessment.
Endau and Rompin fields are located in Block SK 311, East Balingan Basin, approximately 100 km offshore Sarawak in water depth averaging 44 meters.
The major components of the Early Evaluation Phase Development consists of:
1) Well Support Structure (Jacket),
2) Early Evaluation Facilities (EEF) Topsides,
3) Oil Export System,
4) Mooring System
The EEF Topsides will have the process and utilities facilities. Produced oil will be processed on the EEF Topsides and sent to the export facilities system.
The services required to be performed under this contract includes project coordination, source inspection and source expediting.
